Tonys Biography and Tractor Models

Posted by Admin on Friday 02nd of March 2007 07:29 PM
I have lived at Brook farm in Gloucestershire all of my life, a farmer born and bred. I love my life on the farm, which is a dairy farm. In my earlier days I was eager to leave school so that I could devote myself full-time to farming.
My day-to-day chores include tractor driving- feeding, cleaning out the buildings, muck hauling, hedge trimming, tankering, silaging and hay/straw making and the general day- to-day work to keep things running.
From a young age I commenced collecting model tractors, starting with Birthday and Christmas presents. The interest is now my passion and I have long lost count of the number of models I own. This march (this weekend in fact) will be the third time I have entered my own 2 tractors a Ford 8700 and the 2nd year I have taken my Ford 8100. Also I have entered my model display. Although I cannot claim this as my own as it is more of a joint effort with my good friend Chris. We have also had help from other friends Mike and Rob. This year we have doubled the size of the display including a display of a farm, a quarry demonstration, a grassland and tillage demonstration plus tiered shelving displaying our favourite models. I will post pictures on the site asap. We aim to extend and remodel the display each year. We have in mind to include a video display showing the real tractors at work throughout the year.
